If you treat AI like a very smart person who does poorly with generalities but is great at specificity, you'll find your prompts yield exceptional results. Asking AI to "act like an expert" gets you a good set of answers, but on its own it can still produce hallucinations or inaccurate, but convincing, results. Asking it to cite sources in MLA or Chicago or AP, and to offer links, will at least give you a sense of where to go to verify the answers you get when researching a story or topic and even when looking at what is already in the news cycle about your story or story topic.
