Unexpected hurdles are likely, Lead by example and that as engineers, we don't halt progress for obstacles; instead, we solve them in a positive way and move forward.

As a servant leader, we need tp embrace a growth mindset that sees challenges as opportunities for learning and improvement. We need to understand that adaptability is a skill that can be developed over time. Actively seek feedback from our team members and peers and use this feedback to identify areas for improvement and adjust your leadership approach accordingly. We also need to foster a culture of innovation within your team. Encourage team members to suggest new ideas, experiment with different approaches, and be open to creative solutions.

I find it helpful to learn from others. Listening to team members and understanding their experiences can shape my leadership. By setting clear goals and being open to feedback, I can better adapt and lead effectively. Respecting everyone's background is key for us to work well together.

To make a person adaptable to a role, the need of the hour will be to make the person wear different hats of thinking by ensuring the person plays a different role or a role aligned to give a different perspective to the task in hand. For example. if the team is focused on development, to understand the requirement from customer perspective, have some people in the team to serve the role of customer and evaluate the effort of the deliveries and issues faced in usage of the delivered components

One of the example, consider a software development team accustomed to creating customer-facing applications suddenly being assigned to develop internal tools. By highlighting how their customer-focused design skills can enhance the usability of these tools for other stakeholders, the team might find renewed purpose and engagement in the seemingly boring task. The key is to involve the team in the decision-making process, provide training and support if necessary, gain trust and celebrate achievements to foster adaptability and enthusiasm for the new challenge. Adaptability hinders free thinking and rather should be a subset of responsibility as its said with freedom comes greater responsibility any time.
