Get logistics and finance ready. organise work in to general tasks to be realise in the field; Outline specific tasks to be realised (time-bound) ready just to perform or collect data. if questionaires are required, prepare and test them to ensure they meet the need. Forecast alternative tasks in case one was delaying or not achievable within timeframe. Follow-up with checklist to ensure all tasks planned have been achieved for each day. At the end of the day, enter the data or findings collected into the appropriate area of your preprepared report template. Rest well and get ready for the next day.

Also, if you are going into a low-tech area, it's best to use tools and apps that can collect and store data offline. And speaking from experience, if you are going into a low-tech area, make sure the devices and apps can work when internet and/or data is unavailable.

When gearing up for field data collection, I mentally walk through my day/week as I pack. I visualize each part of the trip and make sure I have everything I need for what's coming up, while skipping anything unnecessary. At the beginning of my career, I used to overpack when collecting data in the field. This not only cluttered my space but slowed me down when I had really busy days. However, unexpected situations are always a possibility. And I don't want to be caught unprepared and unable to collect necessary data. So, I always include a few versatile items that can handle any surprises. For example, I pack a multi-tool, extra batteries, additional pens, and a weather-resistant notebook.

In conducting a good field research, it is pertinent to note that field research is not only all about going to the field to gather data alone but an inside assignment of understanding what the research is all about, what are the set objectives and understand the different research tool usage Also, there is need to have a research guide and method device in carrying out the research to be able to reach the desired respondent
