Knowing your worth is the most difficult aspect when setting prices, especially in a time when everyone has access to a high-ish end camera in their cell phone. However, access doesn't equal skill. Being able to define you worth comes from step two, defining your value. Your value will change depending on where you are, who you are working with, and what you are doing for them. A bottle of water is worth far more to an individual in the desert than to an individual in a water bottling company. Research your area, going rates, what sets you apart from the competition, what it costs for you to do the job and then come up with a range of prices that fit those requirements. One-size will never fit all when it comes to pricing out your services.

There are 2 methods to price for your photography- 1. Per hour - charging per hour is one of the most common ways to go by. For eg, your client books you for a pre wedding photoshoot and expects you for 6 hours then your rate should be according to your value, time given, equipments expense, manpower expense and any miscellaneous expenses 2. Per photo - charging per photograph that you provide to them is a uncommon idea but that doesn't mean it is uneffective. Your per photo price will be higher and the client might refuse to pay to you after considering the price you charge especially in India.
