Securing data comes at all of the three stages listed below: - At Rest: this is addressed by storage layer encryptions over and on top of attribute and entity level encryptions for data. The storage layer must be encrypted for all sorts of backups taken, whether those are snapshots, dumps, or software backups. - In Transit: This is addressed by TLS, largely the transport layer encryptions. all efforts must be put in to ensure the right and non-vulnerable encryptions are applied and updated. - While processing: This may not be in focus right now, however, the data when being used during the processing stage and that is done so in plain text presents fair chances of interceptions to alterations and the need for Homomorphic encryptions.
