How can you scale and replicate renewable energy systems globally?

Every renewable energy technology has its own pros and cons which make it more/less suitable for certain parts of the globe. It is important to select the best possible type of technology for each geographic area based on the available resources.

Scaling and replicating renewable energy requires a multifaceted approach. Key points that top my list are: 1) creating local and global platforms which promote and standardize best practices that can not only cut technonolgy deployment costs but also improve technlogy lifespan; 2) addressing the skilled workforce shortage via investment in education and training programs and leveraging artificial intelligence to create software tools that make knowledge accessible to a wider but less trained workforce; 3) adopting effective policy frameworks, and implementing financial incentives which rather than promoting certain technologies, enable all technologies to compete in a competitive landscape based on CO2 reduction and cost-efficiency.

In my experience the best way to assess renewable energy is by simply making sure they have enough sun hours, net metering is a bonus as well as honor and integrity within the sales process. What we offer sells itself so no need to lie to get paid in my opinion

No two markets are the same when it comes to renewable energy products. By understanding the dynamics of each region, from the local perspective, the industry can adapt to suit the conditions of that specific market. By adapting renewable energy systems from a technology, installation and consumer point of view, will accelerate the scaleup required to meet our global net zero goals.

From small residential solar PV arrays to large-scale battery storage sites, renewable energy systems must be first and foremost flexible. As a solar PV system designer for over 7 years, I always emphasise that systems need to be flexible to meet a vast array of customer requirements. From load shedding in South Africa to the rainy winters of the UK, the use cases for renewable energy technologies are varied and considerations must be made to adapt to them accordingly.

Green bonds, for example, have gained traction as effective tools for such purposes. These bonds are often asset-linked and backed by the issuer's balance sheet, providing investors with a degree of security. Their increasing popularity underscores the growing market demand for sustainable investment products. This uptick in demand can, in turn, incentivize more issuers to embark on environmentally friendly projects. The European Investment Bank (EIB) exemplifies this trend, having pioneered the use of green bonds through its Climate Awareness Bonds. These bonds have been instrumental in funding renewable energy and energy efficiency projects across member states.

A prime example of this is the TAX CREDIT!! If you do not understand how this truly works then please don’t sell solar. Telling a family of 4 that makes under $120k total that they’ll get a $10+K tax credit when they file taxes is the biggest lie in the book. The renewable energy industry is one that rides the waves of financing mechanisms designed to stimulate growth in this relatively young sector. From 0% VAT on battery storage to the days of Feed-in-Tariffs, renewables have always been incentivised by governments trying to shift consumer habits towards more sustainable alternatives. The good news is, that after decades of trail and error, governments around the world have come to understand the best financial levers to pull to promote large-scale up take in new and emerging markets.

Exciting new ventures are emerging almost everyday that are engaging and promoting the social buy-in of renewable energy projects. From community funded wind farms to Virtual Power Plants (VPPs), we are beginning to see the amazing shift towards communities and local stakeholders making efforts to better their futures and take part in the fight against climate change.

Education is the strongest weapon in our arsenal to arm ourselves, and our future generations, on the knowledge to protect the environment and our planet. Great strides have been made to raise the awareness of the part that mass renewable energy adoption plays in our fight against climate change. This education transcends borders and languages, making the scaling-up of renewable energy a global endeavour that all can partake in.

The best way to help spread solar across the United states to the entire world is very simple…honor and integrity.
