In my experience, being authentic, different and creative will move mountains in this industry. Moreover, you should be a learner always. There is always room for improvement everyday. Therefore, you should be open to new ideas and perspectives. All these little details will make you stand out.

You might be afraid to get yourself pigeonholed if you choose a niche. Content platforms are segmented, whether you want it or not. If you are a musician, you'll probably never sell a record (or stream, or whatever it is these days) if you play reggaeton-classical-rock-jazz. Platforms won't even know how to distribute your stuff, no matter if they really want to. It's the same if you are a writer. The more focused your content, the easier it will be to find minds that are interested in discussing it with you, either agreeing or disagreeing with you.

One thing you can do to avoid plagiarism is combine different views from different sources and build your own and unique voice. To paraphrase Steve Jobs, good artists copy, great artists steal. The value of creating unique content cannot be emphasised in the wide digital realm. Always remember that your different and unique viewpoint is what gives your blogs and articles value, and making an investment in uniqueness will surely pay off in the long run. Be the best at what you do. This will help you avoid plagiarism. Knowing your worth will help you stay clear of pilfering/plagiarizing someone else's work. Your reputation will be safeguarded, as people who come across your work(s) will be impressed by the ingenuity of it.

I think producing low quality content on social media to game the algorithm is a devil's bargain, insomuch as it does get more clicks but it does severe damage to your credibility which takes a lot of time and effort to repair. Other than with social media, I mainly work with an editor so it always has to be a certain quality. Producing quality work creates burn-out, especially if you feel you are underpaid for that project or it is not getting your career where you want it to go (none of my current assignments, of course). So to be honest, I am unclear who other than social media content creators has the luxury of creating 'quantity' and who is reading that quantity of work of compromised quality.

Another important thing is to detach yourself from your content once published. That means you should not take any negative feedback personally. You should not take feedback from people who did not make it to where you are. Never respond to the person. Try to get signal and leave the noise when it comes to feedback.

Stay constructive. Always respond to arguments, not people. And always try to leave something positive behind, even if the interaction is with a detractor.

Now and then, you should open an incognito tab on Google and search yourself. That is a way to see how other see your online presence. You have to put accurate information so that you are in charge of your online presence. If not other people will do it. Report any innacurate information related to your online presence.

Check to see if there are any portfolio profiles you can claim. For instance, journalists can claim their Muckrack profiles to ensure works are properly attributed to them and remove any articles written by others.

One area of consideration in this article that I feel was not emphasized enough is the necessity of delivering plagiarism-free, original content within stipulated deadlines. I cannot stress this enough. In addition, you do not turn to AI to write your clients' articles without their knowledge, all in the name of meeting deadlines. They likely hired you because they prefer a draft from human writers' viewpoints.

Connection is key! Always be relatable to your audience/client. Stories that pull on the heart strings or evoke a Eureka! moment in your reader’s mind will always sell.

Don’t let the pressure to always write something hinder you from considering all the above points. It’s harder to misinterpret silence than many words.

Use casual language all you want (it's actually recommended in certain channels, LinkedIn is one of them), and feel free to use slang, but no curses. 2. Don't trash anyone - if there's a negative thing to say about a brand or a person - skip it. Talk about the meaning of a backlash against someone, but never become the backlash itself.
