One thing I have found helpful is to visit the proposed vendor location and ensure that it has the capacity to perform the work you are looking to have them to complete. Terms of any partnership won't matter if the facility is over capacity prior to the influx of work the new partnership will bring. Once the partnership is set up it is important to continue to have regular communication between the two parties. This allows for constant improvements which will strengthen the arrangement.
