I think, your slides are your secret sauce, give them bullet points at the end. That way you can ensure your slides aren't stolen and your original research remains intact

This is an era where we all have smart phones. Every presentation I do, the last or the last two slides has a QR code. It can be link for feedback - Such as link to a Google form, or my social media handle link, or link to any document, website, video etc. It is easy - instead of typing they just scan and click, thus they do not mind the action required. Also there are many websites with allow to create free QR code in seconds.

I have discovered that most audiences rely more on speaker notes than on the main content. This could be because the notes appear to put what is said in the right perspective

My presentation style is very minimalistic. My slides often include images or minimal content that acts like a prompt for me as the speaker. If you were to look at the slides afterwards (or if you hadn't seen the presentation in person) you wouldn't understand the references. Speaker notes are a great way to solve for this. It allows you to keep the slides clean and focused, while still adding value for those who want to consume the content outside of the actual presentation.

Identify your audience type to know the best method to deliver your presentation to them. However, everyone understand visuals, if the audio is inclusive that enhance the goals as well. This is a way of creating additional information apart from your spoken words and texts on the slide. It provides deeper insight in your delivery as a speaker.

One thing I have found that using multimedia is helpful for easy communication. This will helpful to audience to understand easily. This will save our time. We can present complex things or data by multimedia. It will be more attractive and easy-to-use .

Multimedia keeps a presentation from getting boring and can be the perfect way to re-engage your audience part way through. A video, audio clip or gif is the perfect chance to pull people back in. Warning though...multimedia is one of the easiest ways to run into technical difficulties. Make sure you test them before you go live, or you may end up with an uncomfortable moment or transition.

A word of caution: Be sure that the hyperlink is not to an unsecured or compromised website. We could lose credibility if that happens

Important to keep in mind that hyperlinks would be useful only if the soft copy of the presentation deck is expected to be shared with the audience! If not, a QR code with a humor/curiosity-driven delivery is preferred to encourage the audience to use it. Moreover, a truly content-rich presentation would show a preview of what to expect when the hyperlink is used. For example, a summary image, with the hyperlink available at the bottom for those interested to view the entire content behind that image.

Handouts are a great way to drive engagement, but only during your presentation. For the handouts to be useful beyond the speech, there needs to be truly a striking fact on there so that it becomes a reference material for future use. If the handout becomes a replica of the slides presented during the presentation, the audience may throw it away as soon as they leave the room if they feel they can remember the talk / watch its video later anyway!

I think this is a very weird recommendation. Handouts are thrown away most instantly and are a cost factor. On top, you'd have to walk through the room before tour talk and give them out. I'd rather recommend haven links to your social profiles and websites and curate a tweet list with further readings or materials on the topic to be pushed out while you're speaking.

I was brought on as a keynote speaker at an event focused on technology. Unfortunately, the speaking setup didn't have the technology needed for a successful session. I had plenty of multimedia as part of my presentation, but the room didn't include the right audio/visual setup. This was also my fault because I hadn't confirmed prior to the event that they could accommodate the way I had setup the presentation. It was an uncomfortable experience. When you're preparing, make sure you're asking the right questions and preparing for all scenarios - then hopefully you won't have to go through the painful learning experience that I did!

I actually go the opposite route and provide less content on my slides. I create a "bonus" of formal documents for those that sign up for my newsletter. I like a custom QR code or a bit.ly URL that can quickly point them to that bonus.

Making content digestible by focusing on 2-3 main take-a-ways and identify them at the beginning of the presentation and reiterate them throughout. This can be moments where you say "I want you to write this point down" It allows people to have something to reflect on post workshop. Also include space for them to practice in real time what they learned through breakout groups and have them report out at the end of the workshop. The best way to retain information is to practice what you learn and during a workshop they can hear from others and learn from each other as well.
