- Be specific. Instead of saying "I expect you to do your best," be more specific about what you expect. e.g., you could say "I expect you to attend all mentoring sessions on time and prepared." - Be realistic. Set expectations that are achievable for the mentee. Don't expect them to learn everything overnight. - Be consistent.
