How can you prepare students for the real-world challenges of product development?

A well-defined problem statement is half done, The challenge lies in equipping students with practical skills and knowledge to navigate the multifaceted landscape of real-world product development. Bridging the gap between academic learning and industry demands involves integrating AI-focused tools, fostering collaborative experiences, nurturing soft skills, providing industry exposure, and instilling an agile mindset while ensuring ethical considerations in technology.

In my opinion, nothing can prepare students for the real-world challenges of product development BUT a real experience. While it is important to educate the students about the product development lifecycle and project management aspect of the process (which has its own challenges), I also understand that the academic institutions may not have enough resources to provide hands-on experience to individual students. The best that can be done is for the academic institutions to engage with industry effectively and let the students learn from the experts via guest lectures or regular industrial visits.

Put them on the field, i.e internship for the RnD and put Responsibilities for them to weight, so when they are graduated they will have some experiences and prepares for the real challenge
