And if all that still doesn’t work, why not make up your own briefs to solve? There’s no stopping you from having an online portfolio of case studies tied to campaigns or work that actually never happened. The power of networking is very underrated. Networking alone gives you tools and people to work with. When you put yourself out there you continually pick up experiences by hearing about what others have gone through and hence get a rich library of experiences that you didn't necessarily have to go through them all to understand and grasp

From my experience, to be a better creative strategist, is self-directed learning, being autodidact, watch a lot of ads and creative festivals as well. At some point you will notice what's good and what's bad. Choose three ads you like and try to think how they come up with that idea (go backwards until you find what was the brief), look up for interviews to creative directors and try to talk to them. Come up with a lot of ideas and in between them you will find good ones!

Seek a mentor in this space. They can be relatively early in career based on the context of overcoming a lack of experience. Understanding the day to day realities of where you want to be next in career can be as or more valuable than the deluge of insights available. How did they get to where they are? What practices build capability while demonstrating strategic thinking within tactical projects and roles? A mentor can help bridge the gap between theory and application, acting as an accelerator for growth.
