We must focus on Inventory there should be optimize inventory for Raw material as well as Finished goods. There should be customer centric vision means in terms of Value, delivery, Quality and Safety. Also need to invest in employee. As per my experience companies are not caring for Old Employees. Need to build a strong team there should be right mix of Old and new employee.

During my past experiences, I've found that integrating the principles of SWOT analysis and Lean Six Sigma into manufacturing operations was crucial. It allowed us to thoroughly evaluate our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats while streamlining processes to eliminate waste. We always considered the "who," which involved our dedicated team, the "why" to improve efficiency and stay competitive, the "what" being our manufacturing operations, and the "when" as an ongoing process. We adopted a data-driven and customer-centric approach, continuously improving our operations, ensuring that we remained adaptable and competitive in an ever-changing business landscape.

When it comes to manufacturing operations, one key aspect that can affect it is globalization. In fact, third-world countries like Haiti, Niger, and/or Nicaragua are greatly affected by that. Hence, my input will focus solely on developing countries and how they can optimize manufacturing operations strategies in this changing world. For starters, let me emphasize on the fact that these countries, often referred to as third-world nations, are home to vibrant communities eager for growth and development. Yet, they face unique challenges that require a strategic, holistic approach to manufacturing. Therefore, the following should be considered when optimizing manufacturing operations strategies: Global Reach, Skill development,& Adaptability.

This feels more like other parts of the business than Manufacturing Operations. As a contributor to Value Proposition and what ultimately gets marketed we should internally have very good feedback loops so we can explain how our manufacturing processes contribute to Value Propositions and Marketing.

In this only we have to take care of our commitments given in terms of delivery, quality and cost need to adhere 100%. Also need to address customer issues on top priority.

Add features that customers want! Cant say enough about researching use cases and actual desires over fantasies. Trust good data.

The first thing to do is to define the core values of manufacturing as in most companies core values already exist which are the basic foundation for creating a culture. Culture in manufacturing defines the core factors that are always considered on priority during the decision-making process. This process creates a unique identity of the manufacturing system and defines a culture - based on certain values. For example, customer-centricity becomes a core value for many industries that provide tailored services or products based on customer needs. Therefore, the complete value chain is driven by customer needs right from design to the manufacturing phase.

Competitive priorities in manufacturing operations connect with strategic objectives. 1. cost 2. quality 3. sustainability 4. productivity 5. Innovation 6.custemaization ...

In my view, achieving a strategic balance among key factors such as flexibility, cost, compliance, efficiency, and risk management is essential. It’s about making informed trade-offs; you can’t optimize everything simultaneously. However, you can remain competitive and profitable by selecting the right trade-offs. These decisions will likely influence your processes for the next five years, so it’s critical to choose wisely.

Being selective and realistic on what can be completed is important. If you take on too many initiatives, you risk not getting the full benefit of completing a single one. As an example, if you can focus your team on improving Quality through improved work instructions and quality inspections with a return process that increases feedback to Engineering and Field Technicians, it can open up new initiatives once these first steps have been validated. Almost an Agile method of tackling large initiatives and plan to get the largest payback first and see how that changes the course of your next steps.

Controlling cost is important, but cannot be the only driver on manufacturing operations. Arriving quickly on the market, propose a sustainable and high perceived quality manufacturing process, could be a game changer for the company.

Your value proposal has to be consistent with your capabilities. Take a look to your competitors, try to perform a benchmarking, try to study the customer needs and expectations but keep in mind that is about you! If they can produce at 10$ and you just can reach 12$, there's a reason for that.

As we talk about a "changing" world, be aware that process flexibility is against standardization. While standardization creates efficiency and speed, more standard processes are less flexible. So, be aware of the nature of potential changes and adjust flexibility vs standardization dial accordingly.

In this there should be right mix of Manual and Automation of Manufacturing Process to achieve min cost of product with right quality.

I think process configuration is the step that ripe a fruit for all the startegies you are concerned and you are willing to achive company mission, so you must be too much careful in this regard.

In this we have to closely Monitor our Plan Vs Actual as per targeted KPI's. Every employee must participated actively in Kaizen Activities. Everyone should be clear with his/her role.

The tricky part in implementing performance measures is setting the target. Yes, the KPIs are aligned with the business goals, UVP, and competitive priorities. But because everyone wants to see all metrics are green, so they set easy-to-achieve targets. So easy that they actually don’t help improve the operations. Later you will wonder why you are still producing less or having defects when your OEE month-on-month is always green. Remember: KPIs should drive and stimulate improvement, not complacency.

To collect the data in the BSC, first we need to validate if our currently metrics have been calculated according the estandar, they say the true of our process, all shifts collect the data in the same way. In other words we need to validate our messureme system. After that we need to identify the key point s that we need to improve, it′s not possible all at the same time. It′s necessary to define wit the Core Team what is priority to improve adn define different projects, sponsorts to improve each of one

Using the Balanced Score Card approach to deploy and measure strategy execution is well-tested. When developing the KPIs linked to the BSC, ensure that these measures are balanced across dimensions such as productivity, quality, cost, delivery, safety, and environment. When setting KPI targets consideration needs to be given to business goals and objectives, manufacturing and process capability, bottlenecks, and industry benchmarks.

For growing organizations implementing KPI's and balanced scorecards: be minimal and expand. Asking for too many new performance measures can create a culture of "making the numbers" work. Each KPI should have a specific and measurable methodology so that leadership can determine if changes had the desired effect; spend the time on the front end to define the metric before rushing to implement!

Everything mentioned above, are based on some inputs, i.e. resources, forecasts, market condition assumptions etc. Review them frequently to make sure they are still valid, and if they are not, make adjustments.

The backbone of a dynamic operations strategy is data. By continuously gathering and scrutinizing data from various sources like performance metrics, customer insights, and market dynamics, you can make informed decisions that drive improvement.

".. celebrate and reward your achievements and learn from your failure." The above is important for 3 reasons: 1. Reinforcing positive behavior is crucial to getting the behavior to occur again. If all one does is talk about the "red metrics", you'll disengage the team. 2. People want to feel valued. Taking time to say thank you and recognize performance is key for building a culture in which people want to be part of. You see it in sports events all the time; fans want to be part of a winning team. 3. Learning from failures only happens if you can talk about them. That only happens when you create a safe place to do so. The culture needs to be in place first to support candid reviews of why things don't work out as expected.

Strategy should be aligned with VISION (20+years). Do we have a vision? If so, does it need re-evaluation (usually not). Then lower level - strategy - can change (and really changes) as a response to a changing world (to align with the Vision :) ). If the Strategy does not need to change, we break-down even lower, to the KPI / Objectives / Targets level). Once KPIs / objectives that need addressing are identified, we need to tell LEAD indicators from LAG indicators. If we focus on lead indicators, we will be more flexible, but this is not always so easy / direct / even possible. Never mind. There are plenty of lag indicators that are of help all the time. But stick to the big picture :)

I just want to share a story about a manufacturing plant in Egypt which I was honored to head it for quite some time. We used to high energy costs and frequent equipment breakdowns. The old machinery and inefficient processes were hurting our bottom line and making it hard to meet production targets. Determined to turn things around, we decided to modernize our operations. We started with an energy management system and conducted a thorough audit. This helped us spot where energy was being wasted. Starting with No-cost-low-cost opportunities like fixing leaks (steam, compressed air & water) then swapping old motors for energy-efficient ones, which saved us money right away.

For the same IIOT and AI are the key enablers. 3.Change:Quick response in mfg to field issues as social media exposes quality issues in no time to the whole world, thereby creating a huge dent in the company's reputation. Action:Traceability needs to be super focus and be the lifeline of mfg process. 4.Change:Less price. Action:Mfg must embrace '0' defect rather than 6 sigma for reducing waste to rein in on mfg cost.
