En caso de zonas muy oscuras es conveniente ayudar al escáner con más puntos de luz en la sala además de ajustar la precisión, velocidad, alcance.. Hay que tener en cuenta que cuanta más precisión se tenga en estos ajustes, más tiempo va a tardar en realizarse cada escaneo de puntos.

Como se ha indicado en el anterior punto, la refracción va a generar ruido, duplicados de habitación en superficies muy reflectantes como los espejos o fallos en la nube de puntos. Para evitar que esto ocurra, en caso de que se pueda, hay que ocultar/tapar todo aquello que vaya a generarnos conflicto. Aunque en caso de que estemos, por ejemplo, realizando nubes de puntos en salas mecánicas, hay que ajustar esta potencia del láser y así en los elementos que tengan una superficie reflectante, como conductos, podamos minimizar la refracción o incluso realizar varios puntos desde distintos ángulos para obtener la mayor información posible. Pero en mi experiencia, nunca se va a poder ver correctamente si no se cubre con una superficie mate.

For example, my experience of laser scanning collections at the Natural History Museum results in scanning quite small objects, and scanning close to the surface. In this example, the angle created between the laser and camera lens aperture needs to be considered for getting into smaller openings. Both sensors need to see the surface for a successful recording of the detail and if either is occluded, it will fail to register.
