Furthermore, figure out what you would like to work on and join groups that deal with your topic. If you are interested in teaching internationally, then follow people who already do it and are good at their jobs. Also, join groups that deal with international teaching. In this way, you can meet and make some key connections that will help you later in life.

In Ontario there are many platforms to follow and like, but as mentioned by previous members, it is a tool not a personal soapbox, and as such the OCT has published many disciplinary papers on the responsible use of social media. This was so useful to me when I first took on journalism. There are so many great journalism resources that I simply had no idea about because I was the only adviser in my district. Been proactive and following teachers up actually shows that one is putting them to mind and this also gives them a great mind that they belong to a person that cares for them directly or indirectly because teachers go through lots of dissemination while teaching and often tends to forget many things ,so following them helps to reserves greater data that could have been lost.

I agree, often connecting without following up would spell the (temporary) end of the connection. Following up requires time and effort, but it is necessary for keeping the connection going, or at least to solidify it, no matter how weak the connection is to begin with. At least increasing the strength of the connection allows others to see your sincerity, and this could work positively for you in the long run.

In my teaching journey, LinkedIn has served as a significant networking hub.
