There is a false pretense that a podcast can't be biased. This is poison to any podcast. It is okay to be biased. Really! This antiquated notion that programming has to be balanced disappeared decades ago and made radio and now podcasts far more entertaining and engaging. That said, know that there may be opportunity cost associated with how much bias you place in your content. Let your audience know where you stand on your subject matter. There are no podcasts in the top ten lists that aren't biased in some way. If you worry about what your audience thinks all the time, you are not in control of your podcast and are doomed to failure.

Do NOT do this!!! Bad advice. You open up this type of behavior from your audience and you will lose respect and your fortitude fast. It's your podcast. You stay in control and do what you do. The moment you start to let the audience control your show, you are done.

You are never going to make everyone happy. Don't try to. Make you happy. It is not up to you to lower your standard so even a fool will get it, but to raise the bar for them to rise up to. Make your audience think about your perspective instead of altering yours to meet theirs.

Again, really bad advice. You should update your content if you are in error with facts or a statement, not because Karen thinks you are unfair. There is no such thing as "Fair" in podcasting. This isn't elementary school. The "Rebuild trust with your audience" is pure nonsense. You start retracting and changing your thoughts because someone thinks you are biased will only lose the audiences respect. You build an audience by people knowing where you stand on your topics. If you are wishy-washy, it only shows you are not the authority they were hoping to listen to.

Podcasting is an exciting and competitive business. It can be really fun as well. Don't be afraid of being biased. If you do a car show and you are a Ford fan, own it. If you have likes and dislikes, so be it. There is nothing wrong with being biased. It is healthy. And honestly, your audience will love you for it. I teach one on one and group podcast classes.
