Managing a team of software engineers is an art. Software engineers are known to be more sensitive to certain topics than other non-managerial roles. Here are the few things which help me finding the right person for the job. 1) Talk to the person, what are their goals, what they want to achieve based on that we can align our approach. When people are liking their job they will give their best. 2) Do the swot analysis and based on that ask them to work on their weaknesses and utilise their strength to get most out of it.
