Every shipment from the moment is arrives at the loading dock, till its unloaded needs to be checked and counted. We rely on the fact that it's ok from.shipper to location. However I've learned that anything and everything can happen to a delivery

When recieving a Shipment must be at the right location. All unit must be accounted for, if not then make sure that the driver know of the missing unit and it is logged on the shipping receipt. When the skid/pallet/box is in tack no break in the shrink wrapping and make an estimated and no box was damaged (after the unit was unloaded count the number of boxes on the pallet/ skid and verfy with the packing slip.)

2 Reject or quarantine the damaged goods

Depending on the severity and extent of the damage, you may decide to reject the entire shipment, or accept it with reservations. If you reject the shipment, you should refuse to sign the delivery receipt and return it to the carrier. If you accept it with reservations, you should indicate the specific problems on the receipt and keep a copy for your records. In either case, you should isolate the damaged goods from the rest of your inventory, and label them clearly as "damaged" or "quarantined".
