How can you make your video shareable?

You tell stories through video that engage the viewers immediately and get their attention right away and then sustain their attention for the remainder of your video. That means high production quality and knowing who your audience is. The key to sales is knowing your customers. And video is all about sales.

How do you get more people to watch your videos? My resolve is to be authentically me. I also know my tribe. Finding your tribe is key. They are folks that share your same mindset and values. This enables you to build a community. When you have the community then ask them to invite others to the same welcoming experience. Despite technology word of mouth is still the most effective method of marketing. The last thing is keep it interesting and ask for their thoughts on the same topic not only for conversation but rather an opportunity to learn. This makes your listener/viewer/audience the expert instead of you. You at that point are the moderator. Hope this helped your journey. Peace

Refuse to make dishonest thumbnails or hooks. If your video is satire, that's one thing, but intentionally misleading people or promising something, then not delivering, is sure to leave a bad taste in peoples' mouths. They could block your page and definitely won't share it. You may get increased views or watch time in the short term, but you cannot expect dishonesty to pay off in the long run.

THE HOOK! You need to have a strong hook communicated in the first 5 seconds of your video. Maybe this is just text on screen or someone speaking on camera. But don't start out the video with any kind of introduction. If you want a strong, shareable social post, hit the audience with a hook in the first few seconds. Maybe you are posting a longer-form video of a podcast episode, or even a vlog and an introduction is needed, that's okay but put it after a hook. Take a few seconds of the most interesting clip from the piece and put it up front. Then cut back to the start of the main piece. Example would be a super bold statement, then cut to the intro card, then into your video introductions. But those first few seconds are crucial.

I try to adopt the 3-10-30 rule. Hook the audience inside 3 seconds. Give them the crux of your message by 10 seconds. Tell the whole story by 30 seconds. Anything after that is a bonus!

The first few seconds of a video are important. You can start with a visual bang to grab attention or start with a emotional hook. The opening of the is as important as the later part of the video.

If your video has a slow unfolding, make a version that begins with some clips of the most exciting parts, or somehow will entice your audience to stay tuned for the payoff, for platforms like Facebook or Twitter (or X, I guess). The "unadulterated" version can reside on a platform like YouTube or Vimeo.

Often people take a long time to get to the point and end with a conclusion sentence. Take that conclusion and stick it at the beginning! We speak differently than we write - don't bury the lead!

Totally agreed, our intro must be chunked in small and effective pieces and it should give a glimpse of our total video content. Grabbing audience attention is very critical, otherwise video will lose its audience retention.

Form my personal experience the tile and thumbnail draws attention of the audience to click on the video. I have encountered instances where I clicked on video because of the thumbnail or the title though the end result was not as good. it is important that if you have a good story and catchy title and Thumbnail will give you more hits, shares and more views.

Thumbnail is very important - similar to YouTube practice - must be eye catching (good design) and easily understandable through imagery only - the text overlay is just a bonus.

Without "value," your video will likely blend in with all the noise of similar videos being generated all across the internet. Without "emotion," your video will likely feel cold and disconnected, and will only appeal to the most dedicated members of your target audience (which you may never reach because the others didn't share it).

Make sure you ask the question, are we creating content that is platform specific? It's easy to get focused on one outreach channel, YouTube or Instagram, for example. How can you tweak the edit or add one more line to make your video more effective for facebook or LinkedIn. Know where your audience "hangs out" online and make sure you're talking to them there!

Videos that resonate deeply are the ones that spark an emotional connection. People are naturally drawn to content that makes them feel something and given Video is such an emotive medium by infusing your videos with emotions, you open the door for viewers to engage on a personal level. That'll encourage more to not only watch but also share with others who might share similar sentiments. Why else do we sit there for hours sharing Reels!?

Emotions attract and hold our attention. It is important to leverage every opportunity in the story to play out emotion. once there is a emotional connect the video will grow on the audience.

CTA should be direct but also repeated in 3 different ways within the video (repetition helps subconscious and learning of branding). Last should be the most effective/"aggressive".

Creatives have shown that call to action can be the creative of the video. There are good examples of that in the market. It really matters when call to action is associated with emotional cue in the video.

Call to action is always in regard to the content of the video. Not just "like and share", but "what do you think of xyz, as explained in the video?". We're past "please subscribe & follow", people will follow if you provide value.

I think people will give you a follow, like or commentIF you provide them value. You don't need to call out "like & subscribe". People are very picky who to follow (to get the most value from).

We (Video Producers & Creative Directors) love talking about technical stuff. In my experience, all we need is to work more on pre-production.Once we perfect it, we would be able to achieve all of our targeted goals. Remember memorable videos are shareable videos. For influencers, having a clear CTA works like asking viewers to like share & subscribe. Don’t forget about the “Wow factor”. If you can surprise your audience, impress them, or spark curiosity it instantly increases value of your video and its success. The WOW factor can be a plot twist, an impressive scale of a project, creative solution or adoption of new technologies. For example, Mr Beast uses crazy projects scale and extremity as his wow factor (there are many things that their team does right, but Im only talking about wow factor here). He creates projects that are so extreme that it both sparks curiosity and impresses with a scale. With that said, you don’t have to go extreme, look for creative solutions to make your videos stand out. Keep trying different things and eventually you will figure it out.

Consider one thing, videos may be an incredible tool for creating connection but they're also a passive tool. How about looking at engaging your audience even deeper by flipping that and making videos interactive. Don't just ask a question in your hook - give the viewer something to DO that will draw them in even further. Interactive video technology has come a long way and audiences are always looking for the new experience.
