How can you make your Agile testing more transparent?

If you need to make the testing transparent, it's likely because testing isn't seen as a natural part of development. If testing is integrated, it should become transparent to everyone involved in the work. Ways to do this includes: -"Testers" and "developers" part of the same team (no test team) and plan their work together. -Test work starts when designing the solution starts. All disciplines work together to design the solution, how to test it etc. -Test cases aren't used only by testers. Design and development work can utilise the test cases as input. In short, work as one cross-functional team, talk to each other, and focus on creating value together rather than completing your tasks.

As an experienced product manager, I would say that transparency in Agile testing can be enhanced by regularly updating a visible task board, clearly outlining testing progress and bottlenecks. For example, a task board can show the status of test cases—such as "To Do," "In Progress," and "Done"—allowing the team to quickly grasp the testing status. Additionally, conducting regular stand-up meetings to discuss testing updates and potential challenges fosters open communication and ensures everyone is informed about the testing process.

Open the curtains on your Agile testing! Share progress, results, and challenges regularly, collaborate through shared tools, visually engage with dashboards, and encourage open discussions about quality. Remember, transparency isn't just reporting, it's a shared spotlight to build trust, alignment, and better testing together.
