Since you are the one who knows yourself better , Create plans that are appropriate for you and make sure you follow through on them. When I first began my professional journey as a Software Engineer, I wanted to do it all. I wanted to learn and be proficient in any technology that I touch. I was very curious. Having a mentality like that came at a cost, a cost of being burnt out, exhausted and end up not loving my craft. If you're new to the game and are just starting out, set up a road map. It can be a year long or a 5 year long roadmap. List down the areas you want to stick to and master as much as possible. Let's say web development; jot down attainable goals for the domain and start executing. Your goals should never be "deadlines". They should be maintainable laps for a big marathon.

As a developer, the first month, 3 months, 6 months, and year are the most important time periods. In my experience, I know most of the developers give up on that time period.Most beginners try to learn frameworks; they try to learn programming through frameworks. That is not how it should be. Try to work on a schedule. Ex: Covered Basic within month, Data Structures in the next two weeks etc Then, on a regular basis, try to complete some sort of demonstration project to put those theories into practise.

If you can make that thing in your first year it will help you to survive in industry.

Sometime it's smart to not "do your own thing". Don't get me wrong, every software developer wants to make their own impact and pave a unique path but sometimes it's favourable to seek guidance and feedback from veterans of the field. People with experience have been doing this way longer than someone who just started out. If you know the mistakes they made early on in their careers then you can avoid them in yours and basically activate a cheat code for early success.

Look for a mentor, it's a pretty good way to have a guidance, looking for information or for building a carrer path in the beginning is a hard task and you could fail by overinformation. A mentor will be your guide and will recommend you books, docummentation, tutorials and any other lerning material that could help you to get your goals. An important annotation is your mentor must have a higher seniority than you and a qualified experience.

So as developers, we have to work on different situations, like when we have to fix an urgent bug in the middle of an ongoing project. So try to balance your workload. I use software to manage that kind of thing Ex: Clickup , and I have software that locks my screen for 20 seconds every 20 minutes. that helps me to reduce my stress, and I take my eyes off the screen during that time. A lot of software engineers try to eat junk food during their first years as a software engineers just to save money for a better life. However, the truth is that in the future they end up spending a lot of money on medical bills to take of the health that they lost while they kept eating junk food during those years to get to that point.

Many times, we only celebrate when we ship a big feature for our customers but it's important to celebrate small wins. An example of a small win is when you've successfully been able to deliver ahead of schedule and had a couple of hours in the sprint to learn something new. Another example is when you have been able to help a peer fix a bug, edited documentation or helped them find a resource. In a previous team I managed, we would take 10 min of our staff meeting to do a little 'love and compassion' where we thank peers for helping us.

Honouring your accomplishment is crucial, regardless of how big or small your goals may be, for example finishing a course or finishing office work ahead of schedule. Celebrate it every time. Since it motivates one to reach greater goals and benchmarks also it supports the development of self confidence, self trust, and the will to accomplish more.

In my experience, as a greenhorn software engineer it’s important build on the small achievements. Also, learning from experienced engineers and not being afraid of making mistakes and taking constructive feedback. It’s necessary to build your portfolio that will eventually springboard your career.

Umso wichtiger, sich und auch m?glichen Mitstreitern einen Termin, sei es auch nur für eine halbe Stunde reinzustellen und zu fragen: 1?? Was war gut? 2?? Was k?nnen wir das n?chste Mal besser machen? 3?? Wie sieht der konkrete Plan/Schritte/L?sungen dazu aus?

Ask as many questions as possible specially when stuck. Remember no question is dumb question we all been there. Don't try to act smart when you have professionals doing it for years right next you you. Use them and you will learn a ton.

I learned NodeJS from YouTube., so I don't have any certificates to show. But I upload everything to Github, finally I have a repo with everything I did with a timestamp. So I think it's added more value to me than a certificate. Keep Coding, Keep Committing, keep Learning.

Since software development is a continuous learning journey. It can easily become overwhelming when we encounter a learning path in n direction. Learning only one new thing which we encounter in day to day working life in depth helps us to keep growing. It might be slow, surrounding people may bambard you with core technical questions still continuing to this process will be more useful in long run, we can remember forever as we are imbibing knowledge from learn by doing technique unknowingly

Don't be afraid to build projects on your own. You watch videos to see examples, but don't solely rely on them. Keep them aside and build your own. When you get stock, browse the internet for solutions in articles or videos to apply and move on with building the project. When you are done building such a project, your skills will remarkably increase by far more than depending on tutorials.
