Check for removal of dust or bird fouling weekly by doing maintenance checks.If energy generation is low during a particular time of the day look for shading elements and clear them from panels vicinity if possible. Check if all electrical connection are intact.

I think most of the Solar Panels have special nanocoatings to assist self cleaning.If they are up on your Roof inspection could be awkward hence why it makes sense to use suitably qualified & insured technicians/inspector.There area number of monitoring systems that can track the performance of installation in real time.

For an installation to be MCS compliant, it must ahead to the standard: 4.10.1 A contract for the sale and installation of a system shall be entered into only between an MCS Contractor certified for the technology type(s) in the contract, and a customer; and only this MCS Contractor shall register the system on the MCS Installation Database (MID) under their user account. This means that you cannot pay someone to come our and certify an installation after it has already been installed by someone else. I hope this helps.Kind regards,Leah

Sold as Maintenance Free!As with my previous comments if an MCS installer isn't used the certification isn't signed off so no access to FIT payments which will be a big issue when trying to get repayment / re-imbursement for the original Outlay.(Rather than just assisting the Power companys from making record Profits) These are all new tecnologies who still have to prove their capabilities. I asked the MCS organisation if it was possible to get an installation inspected/signed off (was let down by the Energy Saving Trust on my Solar Thermal Water heated promised ￡600 rebate/voucher it's a no brainer this would have assisted me getting my PV panels installed sooner so I'd of obtained the 11.9p/kWhr levvy rather than 4.9p/kWhr)
