While every mentor-mentee relation might not be monetarily rewarding for mentors, a healthy relationship can be a cornerstone to the mentees success. Heres how. 1. Having trust in their abilities and communicating to them early on about our priorities and timelines will serve us well. 2. Mentees should be ready to work on the feedback provided by the mentors and keep them updated on the progress. This communication channel should be open and transparent. Finally, if this relationship is nurtured well, mentors can transform into the mentee's biggest cheerleaders, well-wishers and friends for life.

In fostering mentor relationships, I value clear expectations and reciprocal support. Implementing mentor advice showcases respect and shared progress strengthens our bond. Regular updates and gratitude maintain a dynamic, mutually beneficial connection.

My mentors have changed the course of my life. Many of them take on a kind of parental role in some form or fashion. That is not to say that they act as substitutes for my parents - that would be a Freudian nightmare - but rather that, just as children are the physical continuation of a parent's life-blood and spirit, so too are mentees the physical continuation of their mentor's spirit and teachings. It is only right, then, that a mentee acknowledges this fact. Gustav Mahler is a great example: he acknowledged that in a way he was the grandson (so to speak) of Mozart. I try to make an effort to show appreciation to my mentors by putting their teachings into practice. In this way, I am keeping them alive and giving honor to their memory.

Use the "Mind-guiding" growth mindset approach. Both sides in mid-guiding learn together and both sides teach one another from unique perspectives. Within that mutual mentorship that mind-guiding offers lie special spaces to forge wisdom mutually on any topic. Furthermore, the growth mindset that results from mind-guided mentorship creates space to create ongoing contacts that hold healthy collaboration and ongoing shared experiences.

La humildad propia y el respeto por la experiencia ajena son parte del proceso de mentoría. Saber que no sabemos (al mejor estilo socrático) nos brinda una base de apertura para recibir el conocimiento que nuestros mentores pueden brindar. Sin esa apertura probablemente cometamos más errores que aciertos y en la producción teatral, como en la vida, los errores se pagan con dinero, con tiempo perdido o con conflictos, ya que una producción teatral es un trabajo en equipo y entonces el error perjudica al conjunto. Todos somos humanos y nos podemos equivocar, pero el error por soberbia es de los más caros y los que menos se perdonan (y con razón).

I find it a beautiful thing to keep up with my mentors. And why would you not? If someone has invested their time and effort into you - giving you a piece of themselves so that you might grow into more than what you thought you could be - why would you not wish to keep up with them? Even if it is just a text, a phone call, or a message on Linkedin, it is good to keep in touch and let them know how you are utilizing the tools they have given you.

Communicating consistently through giving updates and consultation is a way to maintain relationships professionally and personally. The mentor will always love to hear from their mentees and vice versa, at least for me.

People you will connect with daily/weekly Name the 50 people that are important to you and you will connect with them at least once a quarter, if not monthly. Name the 500 that you will connect with yearly. If someone isn't on the list of 555, question whether you spend time with them.

Every pivotal relationship/ mentor is still in my life. I manage to maintain and secure each bond by intermittent constant engagement. I never cease to oscillate from my present existence to the point of gratitude I have for each for their perspectives and development that each had blessed me with. I am each of my mentor's legacy.
