Employees are able to better mitigate risks when the organization's risk framework is clear to them. Identifying and analyzing risks are two key components in the overall risk management process. To be effective, those two steps have to be clearly communicated to employees, thus making them an integral part of the process. Going straight to the source is always a smart strategy when looking to identify/analyze organizational risks. Each organizational level sees risks in different ways in how it impacts the business from its employees to the external market. One good tip is to know your audience when it comes to asking about risks and finding the most effective/efficient ways to create a safe space where risks can be talked about openly and without fear of retaliation. Surveys work well for this as responses can be anonymous but for some organizations setting up in-person or virtual discussions is a more impactful way to see what challenges and issues the business is dealing with currently. There is no set procedure, just have to start asking questions!
