In my diploma thesis, "Strategic Safety Management in the Context of Natural Hazards," in 2006, I conducted an empirical survey with questions about infrastructural risks. In 2020 I was working at a traditional manufacturer garnering innovation to change its business focus. This included a number of sustainability topics (e.g. indoor farming to solve world hunger, smart cities) and to summarize our change initiative, our experts took on writing a chapter of the booklet, and at the same time a chapter of the sustainable future. The booklet was published as an e-book and also printed and used for reaching new stakeholders, investors, startups, and R&D partners who could travel with us on this journey. Also, it offered talking points for all the employees in the company.

Some common sustainability frameworks to start with include Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). Corporations should also keep their eye on developments in the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) when it is eventually released.
