In my experience in the onboarding program we can add an HR contact for general questions, HR contact for payroll, pay frequency to be selected, when to complete the I-9 and the timeline required, benefits selection options, HR contact for employee relations, how to navigate the ESS if there is any, 401k options , diversity groups, mentoring managers. These would help any employee better.

Collecting feedback is critical to an effective onboarding program. Pull together a group of folks from around your company (both engaged and disengaged) to share their experiences, then ask one question, "How can we do better?" Get ready to sit quietly and listen. I record the sessions because I want to listen to the feedback repeatedly. I pick up something different with each listen. Allow them to create the process and test what works and what does not. A practice I have adopted that has received great feedback is "job shadowing" approaches. I've often referred to it as walk a day in the mile of your peer(s) Seeing things from the other side always gives a new perspective and at the conclusion of the experience feedback can be very open and constructive. Many have indicated that they have never thought of what it is like to be x when they are y and visa versa y sees things from the perspective of doing x's work. Very collaborative and eye opening with many great suggestions for change or appreciation for the other
