How can you foster a sense of community and belonging among your team of volunteers?

The welcome rituals are also a first step to show a structure in your organization that is profoundly care of your wellbeing. Is a step that creates an atmosphere to release the tense and allow the people to express in a more confident way showing that will be part of a team to build.

Creating a strong sense of community and belonging among my team of volunteers is all about ensuring everyone feels appreciated. I make it a point to encourage open communication, making sure everyone feels comfortable sharing their ideas. Regular team meetings are key to this. It's important to me that everyone feels heard and valued. I also believe in clearly communicating our organization's goals and mission. When volunteers see how their work fits into the bigger picture, they feel more connected to the cause. Organizing fun events and workshops outside of regular volunteering tasks helps everyone to be more collaborative. By implementing these strategies, I aim to create a inclusive environment where my volunteers feel connected

Nada mejor que una sesión en donde presentes a los nuevos integrantes. Habla de lo que a ti te motivó para organizar algun evento y pregúntales ?qué les motiva a ellos? Por qué están ahi? Te sorprenderá la forma en la que te comparten sus experiencias y motivaciones.

Regular meetings is something that you need to deliver with a good balance. If the meeting will provide a time to organize, decide and learn will be a good meeting if the meetings for itself is just for something informative you can create an alternative ways to delivery than information, could be a flyer in an email, updates in the calendar, a visual board at the office but not over use meetings just for information because the participants will get the sensation than can be using that time doing things that have to be done. So in other words the regular meetings need to be a tool to support the volunteers in their job not to put an extra task on them that will only consume time.

Efectivamente son tediosas; no a todos les gusta participar en ellas y si no sabes como llevar una reunión, pueden ser muy dispersas. Al mimso tiempo son necesarias, compárteles lo objetivos, se claro(a) en la meta y haz un recuento de resultados. Mantenlas cortas y amenas en la medida de lo posible.

Recognition is part of our natural social sense as humans. Recognizing a good job is important to maintain the motivation to continue working in that way and also have more interest in learning and showing more effort. Recognition is not only about the person that will be recognized is also about highlighting how efforts are compensated and how everyone can persuade that effort. Recognition also contributes to awareness of gratitude and the value of the people and work that we do.

Es ahí donde tus voluntarios pueden ser ellos mismos, pueden invitar a sus amistades y familiares. Es en esos momentos donde puedes reforzar lazos, limar asperezas, ampliar tu cartera de contactos y sobretodo crear relaciones mas honestas y profundas.
