The feed back from others is much more necessary because if you are sitting on a seat and holding the industrial zone which have thousands of workers then chain work is much more important to provide perfect information to seniors with in valuable time.

One thing I've found through my experience is that, it makes no difference the position of another. Anyone can come up with a better way or idea to improve work progress. Its always best to listen.

I'm not sure that any certification can excell an experienced employee. I am an electrician by trade and have worked with many engineers. It's usually the engineers with a working background that use their previous experience to solve issues.

I have mixed feelings about certifications. They should be a source of pride and accomplishment in your field. Unfortunately, certifications do not necessarily reflect actual qualifications. So you can study and test well? Does not mean you are competent. Some of the least capable people I've encountered have had a long list of certifications. I think more emphasis should be placed on experience and results.

I agree with this 100 percent, you need to spend time testing what you have learned , through trial and error you will develop your technical skills over time.

I feel this is an extension of feedback it is just specified goal based. Whenever learning is required we have goals and skill testing is the only way to get accurate feedback of where those developed skills are at. It also forces repetition which increases learning ability.

Benchmarking is the best way to go ! See, we always use benchmarking even when we are not aware of it. Any goods or products we benchmark the value of them in a currency. So we can compare apple to apple. First thing to do is to measure where are you at the moment in terms of technical knowledge. Then, what is the desired level you want to achieve in any field either technical or not. Finally, make a plan in which it will tell you how, where, why and when. Regarding best practices, do you still have time to waist to figure out how to do things ?! Just apply best practices.

I feel you always need to compare yourself to others in the same trade or work arena of your own. I don't feel its a competition but ive always enjoyed improving myself. It always something that pushes me to achieve more.

To improve skills: 1. Read books, manuals, drawings, go round the process to understand how it works. 2. Talk to the others if you are not clear, don't feel shy if you don't understand something. 3. Take the opportunity of attending trainings and discussion. 4. Don't dodge work.

A melhor forma de avaliar seu conhecimento é ensinando/ treinando a equipe. Se por a prova do teu conhecimento o fará pensar nos teus calcanhares de Aquiles e o fará desenvolver ainda mais suas fraquezas. Além de que nunca sabemos tudo e por mais que tua turma seja deficiente, sempre haverá alguma troca de conhecimento. A montagem de um procedimento também é uma forma de você se auto avaliar.
