To ensure your research project is inclusive and respectful of all participants, start by establishing a culturally sensitive and ethical framework. Prioritize diversity in participant recruitment, ensuring representation across various demographics. Develop clear and accessible communication materials, using plain language and offering translations if needed. Obtain informed consent in a culturally sensitive manner, and respect participants' autonomy in deciding their level of involvement. Be flexible in accommodating diverse perspectives and experiences during data collection and analysis. Regularly seek feedback from participants and community stakeholders to ensure their voices are heard and valued.

The easiest thing to do is make sure you start by reviewing trainings provided by your university, the APA Code of Ethics, and the IRB process which ensures the study design is within guidelines and has informed consent. The potential risk, discomfort to study subjects are weighed and risks must have a benefit for data obtained. The Common Rule also applies- “No informed consent whether written or oral, may include language through which the subject or representative is made to waive or appear to waive any of the subject’s legal rights or appears to release the investigator, the sponsor, the institution, or its agents from liability for negligence". (21 CFR 50.20). These processes ensure researchers meet these parameters to do the study.

Consent: We ensure students willingly participate, offering ownership and choice. 2. Value Differences: We stress respecting diverse perspectives, celebrating variations in culture, social backgrounds, and unique viewpoints. 3. Kind Words: We promote considerate communication, encouraging constructive feedback and active listening. 4. Privacy: We keep personal information confidential, respecting each student’s privacy. Recently, my students researched leaders’ conflict resolution qualities. This project enriched their learning and emphasized respecting diverse perspectives.

Diversity includes heterogeneity in socio-economic backgrounds, cross-country representation in sample size, multi-lingual, gender, age, mixed cultural backgrounds, occupations, educational levels, and interests. Being respectful of cultural backgrounds and having an open perspective from the participants. Inclusion of people from different abilities such as braille and sign language, audio-visual methods, and methods that can be specially devised to collect information. Ethnography and qualitative methods can be planned while designing the research project. Constant communication, recording, assessments, and participant feedback will enhance the research findings' quality. Approval from IRB and ethics committee increases the credibility.
