Designing DAS that minimize distraction requires careful consideration of the user's needs, expectations, preferences, and abilities, the driving context (e.g. road, traffic, weather, and speed), and the system's functionality, reliability, and usability. To achieve this, you should use clear and consistent symbols, colors, sounds, and messages to communicate the system's status and mode. Additionally, providing appropriate and timely feedback to inform the user of the system's actions, results, and errors is essential. Furthermore, it is important to adjust the level and frequency of alerts and interventions according to the driving situation and the user's behavior and state. To meet user needs it is also important to allow them to customize or adjust system settings and parameters as well as easily access, activate, deactivate, or override the system.
