Data access optimization is the process of improving performance, efficiency, and user experience, without compromising security or quality. This should be based on the data governance goals and data access needs of the organization. Common techniques include data caching, which stores frequently accessed or recently used data in a temporary memory or storage; data compression, which reduces the size or volume of data using algorithms or formats; data partitioning, which divides data into smaller or logical units; and data indexing, which creates and maintains indexes or references for data based on attributes or keywords. All of these techniques can help reduce latency, bandwidth consumption, scalability, and flexibility while increasing speed and saving storage space.
