Sources are everything. There are a lot of quotes, when taken out of context, can totally change the narrative. When you are writing, it is important to make sure that you are conveying the full message and not just a select paragraph. With the rise of different RXIVs you will also need to do the additional legwork to make sure the science and methods are sound. It is also important to update whatever you write after the article is published. There are a lot of times when the published article is much different than the version on rxiv. Nothing on the internet is set in stone. Periodically you should go through and fact check your articles. With the amount of information published every day, articles need to be updated with latest info.
