Well with my experience in serving information needs to my clients, issue of considering post-truth era is not a thing that taken into consideration that much. Dealing with facts needed community our services always must be professional and valid. Fact checking is more than crucial in our service. So assessment on Patron needs is a crucial consideration and important. The time we have is of post-truth but we as information custodians need to make sure that our services base on facts. libraries always is where one must come for facts check let the community relies and depend on our credibility from the contents we collected.

First is to promote information literacy by implementing programs so our patrons can evaluate information and resources through fact checking sources and being able to distinguish between credible and unreliable information. Second is to use technology for our advantage to enhance access to information and for us as library services professionals to provide guidance on discerning the reliability of online content. Third, curating trusted, reliable and reputable sources so individuals have access to accurate information. Fourth, let's not forget to promote intellectual freedom and the importance of unbiased access to information.

Explain to patrons that the library contains far more accurate and up-to-date material on the topic than any random non-academic source on the Internet, and convince them to employ physical book sources from the library for research.

One thing libraries should have, keep updated, and regularly revise is a collection development policy. There should also be processes in place for when (not if) a patron asks that a resource be removed. Consider thoughtfully how you would respond to that request. How would someone go about formally requesting review? Who makes the decision? What are the criteria used to determine keeping a resource? All of this information should be easily accessible by users, and understandable/practicable by staff.

The rise of artificial intelligence is really challenging our profession, but this is only getting off the ground. Hyperbolic growth in misinformation has begun. Libraries need to develop an understanding amongst their staff in what AI is, how machine learning works, and develop informed strategies. So, to get started, staff training is urgently needed so that we can begin the hard work of promoting critical thinking.

Make sure you are a real polymath as a Library officer. You must be versatile in reading and be information conscious yourself. This entails listening to Radio and Television programs and News, going for public seminars and symposia, acquiring materials written by experts etc. It is when you are not deformed that you can provide the right library services for your patrons. You are the professional and you cannot afford to be "naive" in your profession.

Make sure that your collection reflects a wide variety of views, even those that are unpopular. Discernment and critical literacies don't develop when we control the collection too tightly.

I'm not convinced the 'post-truth' qualifier adds very much to the discussion, except to underscore the always-present need to vet information, its sources, and those who propose to disseminate (and in the case of libraries, preserve it). Information literacy is one component of the issue. Among other facets are how to behave in public and how to interrogate sources, along with modesty and humility...interrogate ourselves. I'm not sure how libraries, as such, can address those latter, larger, issues.
