Translation is sometimes tricky. The same word can mean different things in different fields. Moreover, one word in one language can be translated into many different words in another language. Basically, we need to understand the context. Other than that, researching helps improve the accuracy of our translation. For example, if the material we are translating is related to cultural history, researching that particular topic of cultural history would help us to avoid making a blunder and causing confusion to readers of the translation. This is why we cannot fully rely on machine translation. Human touch is needed here and there when it comes to translation, because in the end, it's human languages that we are translating.
