El reconocimiento de gestos no me parece seguro para la interacción entre el vehículo y la persona porque puede inducir a error en su detección. En cambio si me parece útil para detectar la fatiga en el conductor o para evitar un accidente en caso de desfallecimiento del conductor.

I agree with what Nicolás and Dani have said. Gesture recognition can be quite convenient in a controlled environment as a minimal dexterity and muscle memory friendly method of interaction. A great example of this is eye tracking and gesture control as it is being developed in the virtual reality space. However, it is also the easiest to have misinterpreted in an uncontrolled environment, such as the driver seat of a car. Bobbing to music, gesturing with a hand to react to a conversation, or even shifting in the driver seat could falsely trigger a poorly implemented gesture system. I do thing there is a place for sure systems, but they would need to be limited to specific sections of functionality where false triggers are unlikely.
