In my experience, get the team together and initiate a blue sky thinking session. Encourage the craziest ideas & you'll be surprised that some of them are actually viable. Once, after such a crazy ideation session, we decided to build a small Lego truck in the office, wired with IoT sensors & hooked up to an analytics engine, to showcase fleet monitoring analytics. It became a big hit, helped us win a few deals & was even featured on national television. The possibilities are endless, once we let the team express themselves.

Sometimes, the client doesn't exactly understand what they need, but over time, we can work on that together, exercising it jointly.

When teams from various areas collaborate, they bring different ideas and ways of thinking. This mix of perspectives helps solve problems in creative and innovative ways. BI teams focus on gathering and using information. It's important for them to know the details of where, how, what, and why they get this information. This way, they can understand everything and make connections to use the information effectively in their work.
