A chave para obter resultados positivos em qualquer pesquisa via internet é exatamente a busca booleana, ou seja, é saber usar palavras-chave juntamente com os operadores booleanos (and, or, not, near) e outros elementos como * (asterisco), que ao final da frase substitui qualquer letra ou sufixo; o ~ (til), que antecedendo o termo, busca palavras parecidas com a solicita??o e os : (dois pontos), entre dois números, para expressar a extens?o entre datas, pre?os, medidas, etc. Em sistemas específicos, deve ter ocorrido um excelente trabalho intelectual de indexa??o, para facilitar a busca. Cabendo aqui os conceitos de especificidade X exaustividade e precis?o X revoca??o. E é óbvio que o uso palavras objetivas ajudar?o no resultado.

Vous cherchez des documents d'archives, donc des documents originaux numérisés ou pas. Autrement dit des sources primaires. Pensez ainsi à aller les chercher dans les services d'archives. Si votre problématique est "comment écrire la biographie d'un poilu fran?ais pendant la première guerre mondiale", regardez le site Mémoire des Hommes pour vérifier s'il est décédé ou pas. Si c'est le cas ou s'il est porté disparu, pensez aux archives en ligne du CICR, aux livres d'or (Archives Nationales), aux Journaux des Marches et Opérations de son régiment (Mémoire des hommes), son dossier médical éventuel s'il est mort après voir re?u une blessure (SAMHA), sa fiche matricule (Archives Départementales)... Des sites indispensables à ne pas omettre.

During my postgraduate research in Digital Humanities, I discovered four (4) critical online repositories for archival materials: the Internet Archives (unlimited resources), Google Arts and Culture (cultural heritage), Gallica BnF (Ancient Manuscripts) and archivi.ng (Nigerian newspaper pages from 1994 to 2008) are free online repositories and platforms for accessing and effectively searching for archival materials online.

En ce qui concerne les mémoires de mes étudiants en généalogie et leur correction, tout mémoire qui ne cite pas ses sources n'obtient pas la moyenne, même si le travail rédactionnel à c?té est excellent. La moitié du travail n'est pas effectué. Les sources sont indispensables et elles font partie des consignes que l'étudiant se doit de respecter.
