What I found helpful with the naming conventions is to ensure everyone who has write access to those files should be using the same naming convention. For example, if someone labelled a folder Last name first name date of hire Everyone who creates files should do the same for consistency. Additionally, it’s good to always have the same stance on retention policy. If you are unsure about your company’s retention policy, always follow state/federal guidelines.
