In 2010 we designed and Created a program called Energy Racer. This program normalized energy data so we could "race" energy savings. The program was interactive using social media that would give "speed" boosts when participants answered questions online. The buildings would have "go dark" periods so they could speed up their cars (it was real energy data so they could see their cars speed up. It was interesting and really cool concept.
