How can you develop problem-solving skills in ESL students?

Uno de los problemas más comunes que me he encontrado al empezar con una clase de inglés, es que nadie quiere leer o poner un ejemplo porque les da vergüenza hablar en inglés. El problema en estas situaciones suele ser que se ridiculiza a aquel que se equivoca o que intenta pronunciar bien. En mi caso, la mayoría de mis alumnos han sido de primaria, por lo que, siendo que viví con una familia de Estados Unidos con dos ni?os de 5 y 7 a?os, les pedí que me grabaran un audio simplemente saludando a la clase y diciendo que habían hecho ese día por la ma?ana. De este modo, conseguí hacerles ver que pronunciar "bien" es bueno, y que lo "guay" es poder entenderse con los demás. ?Cómo resolveríais esta situación?
