Devops certifications are similar to passing the driving test, it's only the practical driving which gives us the confidence to drive well. The pass certificate of practical driving test only provides the license to drive and can never guarantee the real ability of someone.

If I were hiring for a DevOps role, I would view a DevOps certification with suspicion. If you want to show value, demonstrate how you can serve the needs and culture of your organization.

Well, this is by far most discussed topic whether to get certifications or not. I would say do it, but don't dwell upon it. I have given multiple interviews and took a few as well, and all I observed is that companies need knowledge and if you can demonstrate that without any certification, good for you. But, if are new out in this field, I would suggest to do some kind of certifications only from verified vendors, like ansible from redhat. If I were you, I would have started with getting basic knowledge of all the tools I want to learn, then doing hands-on, making some projects to get the idea, put my knowledge in practical space, contribute to the community, and if still feel like doing the certifications then do it.
