But the most important step that we forget is to simplify, clean and optimise the architecture and code before moving it. In software development the code often gets redundant, fluffy, smelly and larger than it needs to be. So first simplify the architecture and simplify the code, come up with the minimalistic plan. And then lift and shift the minimalistic plan. Then add any extra tentacles necessary, Keep the legacy running until the cloud part is able to go in on its own. Then migrate the whole thing
