En design d'interaction, des fois, dire ce qui nous semble évident est nécessaire, car l'utilisateur ne dispose pas du tout de notre vision globale comme concepteur du système. Par exemple, pour des systèmes à usage peu fréquent, où l'utilisateur n'a pas vraiment l'occasion d'apprendre ce qu'il doit faire à l'usage, diviser des actions complexes en plusieurs petites actions clairement expliquées sera une bien meilleure interaction pour l'utilisateur qu'une interaction potentiellement plus rapide ou avec moins de clics, mais qui donneraient moins de feedback sur ce qui se passe et là où il en est dans le processus.
