The vision for your culture should be a picture in the mind of every employee so everyone knows what it is supposed to look like 3 years from now. Once you communicate your vision and values clearly, then you can baseline the culture to understand the gap from where you are today versus where you want to be in 3 years. We do this with EDA’s Culture 20/20? Survey. Then build the strategy to get to the future state, just like you would any other operational process. It needs goals, actions, milestones and measures of success. Rally everyone to help reach the desired culture. Reward good behaviors. You want the workforce to be excited about the future culture.

Ask, rather than assume. What ideas do the team have for increasing inclusion? What tools, techniques and different practices have they encountered elsewhere. Democratise your team meetings and collaboration sessions and ask whoever is best equipped to run the session to take the lead.
