In the CultureBrained Community, we regularly update our ideal member persona based on the existing members who engage most actively, live our values, and get the most benefit from participating in and engaging with our community. The last part is super important because we want to serve best the people who need us most. We also run a quarterly survey to keep our hand on the pulse of the community and understand what they want to see more and less of. Keeping an eye on the analytics helps a great deal, too. Often, data tells a slightly different story than the feedback you get from people - it's important to listen to both, in my experience.

SurveyMonkey to the rescue! I won't get tired of praising the value of customer testimonials, but something as simple as asking their opinion about your posts can already be useful. Social media provides multiple tools to monitor the success of our communications but unless you have a large amount of followers, it is sometimes hard to draw conclusions from what mostly is quantitative data (I am thinking humble clicks, likes and impressions). This is why I really appreciate the extra information we can gather with SurveyMonkey questionnaires, which not only allows us to assess the response to our content, but fine-tune new trends and key topics we may have missed. But as any statistician will tell you, sample size is key!
