Well, it's been many years since I've done roto or tweening, but I have a beef with the AI answer I see to the left about spacing keyframes evenly--actually, choosing keyframe points carefully and properly using your ease-ins and outs (and fine-tuning with bezier handles) are essential. Usually this means finding all the extremes of movement arcs or jolts and finding ways to maximize procedural travel will lead to a less jerky or noticeable result. And don't grind your way down the path, start with the basic coverage, then add well tuned keyframes as sparingly as you can. Keep working on segments of movement from both sides. I know it's a hackneyed phrase, but don't let perfection be the enemy of good. The work should not be noticeable.
