As you get more comfortable, you many find that you no longer need a script or outline. Having an outline is helpful if you plan on turning your podcast episodes into blogs. You can use the bullet points as headings, transcribe your episodes and place text under the appropriate headings. You can also use an outline to create show notes. The key is thinking about how you can repurpose everything you create. And having fun! It will get easier. :)

If you want to cut fluff later, fine, do that -- but don't attempt to manufacture structure in the conversation. The guest will tighten up, and there isn't enough value in it for the audience to notice and appreciate either.

The podcast duration is important. I'm not inclined towards long podcasts, and your podcast shouldn't exceed an hour.
