Hay unas normas básicas para facilitar la comprensión de cualquier publicación, como tener en cuenta mantener un máximo de 3 tipos de tipografía, mantener la jerarquía lectora bien ordenada, -de hecho se utiliza ya de manera generalizada la infografía tanto en publicaciones como en folletos publicitarios-. Tener en cuenta la elección de las imágenes (si son en color, tonos o grises), donde aunque pareciera que no, es importante saber en qué tipo de papel se ha de imprimir (estucado, mate, ecológico, con textura, etc), ya que también ayudará al contexto. También habrá que tener muy en cuenta a qué target está dirigido y en que tiempo verbal se realiza (no es lo mismo un contexto para usuarios casuales que para un público profesional).
