A robust public realm is a key contributor to the health of individuals (physical and mental) and further to the wellbeing of the community as a whole - building resilience and social capital, which in turn develops the communities capability to act as stewards of spaces that are multi-generational, accessible, equitable, inclusive, and sustainable.

En mi experiencia profesional, he encontrado que, durante el dise?o de una obra privada -residencial, corporativa o de usos mixtos-, es importante considerar ceder espacio al ámbito público ya sea en los accesos, como incorporación del área vegetal o como una plaza que pueda disfrutar cualquier persona. Claro que se depende de que la seguridad pública y la educación cívica funcionen, pero con el dise?o participativo como punto de partida pueden obtenerse elementos para que la comunidad se apropie y establezca una relación de arraigo con la obra arquitectónica y urbana.
