3D models are a value for sustainable architecture. With BIM it was easy to achieve. 3 dimensions are not enough to analyze sustainability and BIM offers more, which takes us closer to real. Aspect not mentioned would be a response from software regarding location. If model placed in an area whose population has culture of certain construction technique, industry manufactures certain materials and specialized labor is limited; how model can warn about these issues? would completely change the perception of sustainability for the locality. Thus, the software would advise on the best construction technique to employ local labor, construction materials to empower local industry, etc. I say that 3d models, or ND, lack a real human dimention.
